Pineapple Pear Chili Sauce
with Mini Wontons

Ingredients

1¾ cup fresh pineapple, chopped
1 cup asian pear, chopped
⅔ cup yellow bell pepper, chopped
4-5 cloves garlic, smashed
Few slices of ginger
2-3 red jalapeno or serrano chili, finely chopped
½ cup rice vinegar unseasoned
4 tbsp honey
1½ – 2 tsp salt
2 tbsp cornstarch
3 tbsp water
1 (24 oz) pack Bibigo Chicken & Vegetable Mini Wontons

  1. Puree the pineapple, pear, bell pepper, garlic, and ginger in a blender. Strain the puree through a fine-mesh strainer or nut milk bag for 1⅔ cups of liquid. Discard the pulp.

  2. Transfer the liquid to a small saucepan. Add vinegar and chili and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

  3. Reduce heat to medium, add salt and honey and simmer for 5 minutes.

  4. Mix the cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Reduce heat, whisk in the slury mixture and simmer for 2 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat and let cool. Serve sauce at room temperature with fried Bibigo Chicken & Vegetable Mini Wontons.
