Mini Wontons with Brown Butter, Sage, and Apples

Ingredients

26 Bibigo Pork & Vegetable Mini Wontons
½ medium Honeycrisp or SweeTango apple, medium dice or thinly sliced
3 tbsp walnuts, roughly chopped
4 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into 4 equal pieces
2-3 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
10-12 fresh sage leaves
Salt & pepper to taste
Freshly grated parmesan, for serving

  1. Melt 1 tbsp of butter in a medium light-colored skillet over medium heat. Add apples and cook for 4-5 minutes, until just tender. Remove from heat and transfer apples to a bowl. Set aside.

  2. Steam the Bibigo Pork & Vegetable Mini Wontons until heated through, about 5 minutes.

  3. While the wontons are cooking, add the remaining butter to the same skillet over medium-low heat. Cook butter for about 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until butter becomes foamy and small brown specks start to form.

  4. Add garlic and walnuts and continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the walnuts and garlic are light golden brown, about 3 minutes.

  5. Add sage leaves and continue to cook for another minute, stirring constantly, until sage is crisp and the butter and sediment in the skillet has turned deep golden brown. Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper.

  6. Transfer the steamed wontons to a serving platter, top with apples, and spoon the hot brown butter sauce over the top. Sprinkle with grated parmesan and enjoy.
